January is an ideal time for employers to implement support systems, as unaddressed abuse leads to £14 billion in annual losses through absences, reduced productivity, and staff turnover.
During the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, employers must recognize that domestic violence significantly impacts workplace productivity and employee wellbeing. This campaign highlights the importance of creating supportive workplace policies, training managers to recognize warning signs, and providing resources for affected employees.
It’s a sad fact that one in four women and one in seven men will experience some form of domestic abuse in their lifetime. A statistic that sadly continues to grow.
